The Curriculum

Our Early Years Curriculum provides an excellent framework to ensure each child receives the care and education for every aspect of their development.  Effective learning is carefully planned in order to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Children from the age of two follow the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ Curriculum. From September 2008 the Government stipulated that all early years education is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Individual activities are carefully planned to ensure that they challenge each child to develop their interests, skills and enthusiasm.

The new structure is based on four themes and they express important principles underpinning effective practice in the care, development and learning of young children. Each principle is supported by four commitments which describe how the principle can be put into practice.

Full details are in the prospectus.
