Outdoor PE remains on a Tuesday and dance is now on a Monday, It is especially useful for children to have their water bottle in school as they can take this into PE lessons to help avoid dehydration.

Homework will continue to be given out by Tuesday and will usually be a piece of literacy or a piece of maths. It is due in on Monday, but your child is very welcome to bring it back as soon as it’s complete (this helps with marking it, too!). Please do all homework in pencil. If your child finds homework challenging they are very welcome to attend homework club which is held on Fridays at 12:30. Tables will be tested on a Tuesday and spellings will be tested on Fridays.

We have regular ERIC (everyone reading in class) time. We aim for every child to read in school to an adult once a week (this is through guided reading, shared reading and individual reading) and also have the opportunity for comprehension based tasks. You can help your child by hearing them read frequently and talking to them about their book, including making predictions and talking about their preferences and giving reasons why. Please ensure their book is in school every day. In KS2 they are responsible for changing their own book when it’s finished.

If you have any questions please make an appointment to see me.
